The crank lightened, polished & balanced, it has Carrillo rods and a lightened 749 transmission.

The dyno graph below shows the evolution of the motor - starting with the initial instalation of the 1080 pistions, next step was the DP cams and careful tuning and the final run shows the result from the +2mm intake valves and some additional head work.

Not quite as much peak power as lechef is making with the 100mm pistons and 50 mm throttle bodies, but, given that we have been relatively mild in compression and have made sacarafices to ensure reliability over peak power - I'm pretty happy. I can't wait to get it on the track - we have the weight down to about 340 lbs so lets let the fun begin!

bump and
just wanted to add we are not trying to cheat with the std correction factor
on this run. The dyno has always run low numbers. Many calls to dynojet What we did was dyno a stock S2R1000 at several shops with a 250i and we looked at the hp numbers of the stock runs. Even with STD we are about 1hp low compared to 3 other dynos on SAE.

We need to get this SS to breathe up top, maybe we will have to keep going on it this winter??????

Also, does anyone have some other bone stock DS1000 0r DS1100 runs I can look at for comparisons sake?

Im kinda curious to se what 1-2cm longer intakes would do to the curve, might build som adapters and fit and try next winter just for fun.

But for now im gonna ride it and enjoy, best thing is when you are at WOT the bike goes to 8500rpm then you shift and you hit the torque peak at 7000rpm and you off again. really strong!
Is it playtime on the dyno yet this winter? Thanks for all the awesome pics and tests!!!!!

SW, I use a DJ150 and it is about 4% lower than the 250's in the area, std will give similar as the 250 SAE so maybe our dynos are related

I always have to prepare the customers to see low numbers, its not really a point in having a low reading dyno, but like you we cant figure out how to change it, and I'm not sure I'd want to as the reference would go "phuff"

Default im back..

So it finally together again, have done 2 days at Mantorp Park to run it in and then one day in the dyno and another 2 days at Kinnekulle Ring.

Tom mapped my bike after Mantorp and man is it a big diffrence, it pulls so hard all the way to the top. The extra midrange we found really kicks the bike once you start rolling on the gas.

This year no more tuning was done so pretty much the same number, just mounted TI rods and looked over the engine.
Allso mounted another 1098 oilcooler wich really helps with the oil temp that never goes over 120° now even if i puch really hard. The single ncr didnt really help that much allthough it made it better oil temp still was 130°+ wich isnt ideal for the engine.

The last dyno run, ill post some more one i get them. would be nice with an overlay with the old graph.

Rodeo Style.

good god that is fackin awesome.

my only question, right now, is what has made the pipes uneven?

wait, thought of second question, what was required to mount the 1098 oil cooler to the 2v head? Just spacers and another 'bracket-style' valve cover?

only other thing i notice while staring intently is it appears the line to the 1098 oil cooler runs incredibly close to the horizontal exhaust manifold - and that must be crazy hot since they appear to not have been ceramic coated.

Thats the question everbody asks, its a flirt with the old times as the racers had one high and one low and its great fun to scramble everybodys heads with it.

I have used a bolt that the head is extra high on with threads in the head if you can understand my explenation. the used sheet aluminium and bent it into shape.

Its close but not close enought to start melting etc, the wind cools down the heads pretty good. mady it you are running in ton it would be to hot.
If i get a problem i will use sheet aluminium or other as a heatshield there.
