Default Ignition map on a 2V carb Ducati?

Hi folks!

Finally I have installed the Keihin FCR 41s in my Bimota DB2. The carbs has a TPS and since I already have an Ignitech TCIP4 programmable ignition unit installed, I thought I hook up the TPS to the TCIP4 and run a complete ignition map instead of just an ignition curve.

Now, has anyone done this already and can share som experience?

My engine setup is 944cm3 with HC pistons. Stock heads and stock cams dialed to 107°. Squish is pretty tight, about 0,85mm. Stock inlet manifolds and Keihin FCR41 carbs. Exhaust is the DB2 original open exhaust.

if you haven't read this - BikeBoy.org - Ducati 2V Carb Model Ignition – Reducing advance, Ignitech TCIP4 and stuff - do so for the info about how the ignitech works (ime) and what you need to do to get more advance. i ran a map sensor to mimic a tps, but it doesn't completely as the map is not consistantly related to throttle opening, and the relationship from cruise to wot was much less in terms of voltage change than a tps, but you can get the idea. i added spark advance at lower rpm and higher throttle to help the stumble i was getting with soft carb springs in the mikunis, mainly when cold. they really need acc pumps, which you have anyway. email me at work - brad at bikeboy dot org - and i'll email you one of my ignitech maps.

there is a cagiva gran elephant spark map in this report, although you should be able to use much more advance at part throttle, higher rpm -BikeBoy.org - Fuel Injection – A Brief Piece On How It Actually Works
