Default Advice Needed On A 95 900SS CR!

Purchased a 95 900 SS from a storage unit auction here in TN that did not have a title. The storage unit owner did not go through the proper procedures to get a clear title, so now I am stuck with a bike that I can't title. Is there someone out there with a frame that has a title that they would like to sell, or would I just be better off parting this thing out? I thought about turning it into a race bike but realized that being a 900cc it would have to race in Heavy Twins where it would be completely uncompetitive. Would it be worth my time to swap the motor out with an 750/800 to run in light twins??? Any advice would be appreciated!

Matthew

How to Get a Title to an Abandoned Vehicle - wikiHow

I believe what the storage owner should have done was a lien sale, and I assume he did not file the appropriate paperwork, as Matt seems to have checked into it.

Matt, if you wanted to get into racing, seems like this would be a good opportunity. If you found a frame with title, that's a lot of work to swap everything over. But depending on how much you paid for the bike it might be worth your while, even if just to turn around and sell it.

My track bike is an RC, but I think I have a deal to get a frame with a title and will keep this one for the street! Thanks for the response FunkZ!

as long as it's never been salvaged and there is no lien get a bonded title.
Less than $200 and you can register and insure it.
