the bouncie tach

I'm getting really tired of tightening the three brass screws three-four times a season. Is there a permanent method or replacement for this problem??

I've read here on the forum that lubricating the tach drive cable will help with a bouncing needle...

On a slightly different note:
How do I know if my ECU is meant for my open air box and DP high mounts? I bought her used two years ago and I can only go on the org. owners word.
the numbers are:
IAW15M.A0
113 99 12V=
