Default Headlight Prob.

earlier on my way home I had a little prob.. Headlight was acting wierd. It would stay super dim at between 15 and 75mph and flicker back to normal above 80 or when I pulled the clutch in. I checked the connections and they all seemed fine. Has anyone had this happen before, if so how did you fix it? or is this possibly an alternator prob?

It also works normal when idling

Update.

The plug that hooks into the headlight (3 wire) is melted on the right (brake side)
Could there be a short somewhere that I cant find or can I just replace the plug?

Thanks Tykester,

I'm hitting section 8 up for one. Is it ok to run it unplugged until I get a new one? The plug started melting again earlier.

I bought an H4 connector from Auto zone for 2.99. Wired it myself, had sameproblem, OEM plug melted/shattered...

While I was in there, put in a Sylvania Silver star bulb. Works great now..

mine had the same problem, I believe it is fairly common with the mid 90's supersports. I also went with the 2.99 autozone unit, no problem since.

I bought my replacement at NAPA for a couple dollars. No need to buy the Ducati OEM one. You'll have to cut and splice the wires but that's no big deal.

Is there a part # to the plug or should I just bring the old one int there and find a match?

Just found out a Ducati OEM costs $350

PLEASE give me a part # if available

Will get auto zone part # tomorrow. But in bulb section, just ask of H4 plug...
