Default engine flush

I punched through the right side case cover on my 750ss. After pulling it off and picking all the aluminum bits out, and wiping out the small amount of visible grit/sand/dirt/very small pebbles . I feel it would be a good idea to flush the engine with some cheap mineral oil, and spin a fresh filter on, before I put the good stuff in.
What would be the best weight oil to suspend any remaining grit, and get it through the system fastest? something lightweight?

I would buy kerosene at a gas station (or #2 fuel oil) and flush it with the case off, then put the case on and fill it to the top and drain a couple times. Use a less expensive oil and change it once after 100 miles or so, you should be fine.
