Does a 750 Sport alternator spin in an oil bath?
With the engine running on my new-to-me 2001 750 Sport, I see oil splashing/spraying through the timing mark (left side) sight glass.
Is this normal?
Thanks......
Tom

Should be a wet clutch

Yes, the alternator rotor (a multi pole permenent magnet ) spins in the oil. most is in the sump but some is pumped through the crank and intothe eng bearing in the outer case. The stationary windings are in the oil too. All is well.
