41 FCR's

Greets:

So I had a thought. Instead of paying 7-800.00 for two FCR's for a Ducati, why not buy 4 FCR's from a jap 4cyl bike and try and fit two of them on a Ducati. Pipe dream? reality? do-able? an excercise in futility? Has anybody thought of this before? I've seen those racks of carbs go for 2-3-400.00. That's too cheap not to give it some thought.

the rack of carbs only has one throttle linkage that operates all 4 carbs, you need two of them. one for each seperate carb. there has been other responses about this converting racked carbs to seperates. you could use the center two of a 4 cylinder set as racked carbs but would have to remove the outside two, plug the hard fuel lines, modify the spacing between the two to fit your manifolds. it is easier to spend the money and get them set up before you get them and fit when you try to put them on. i am sure that i have not mentioned all the problems that would arise when trying this.
