Default redduc's map for the PCIII-works good!

It just happened before I found out about his custom map for his set up, I had settled on Arrow slip ons, K&N filter/opened up airbox and a PCIII for my 02 900. Started looking around and found a thread about redduc's map he had made for his 01. Looked at it, and he has arrow cans, K&N filter/opened up airbox and a PCIII.

So I put everything on today and man what a difference. I put just the cans on first and rode it 45 miles. Sounded pretty good, still not so deep and kinda "tinny" sounding from being lean. Put the PCIII on with his map and the airbox mods and wow, sounds nice and deep/throaty now, feels stronger off idle and is smooth and clean all the way up. AWESOME! Really livened up the throttle response and clean up the rev range.

Thanks for uploading that map to the PCIII website, for me it is perfect!

Good to hear, I loaded the closest to my setup and it's running too rich.

I have Remus (Strati-fied) exhaust and K&N with stock lid and 4 2" holes added.

I downloaded the map for Forza pipes and no lid with K&N.

My setup has a bit more restricted air in and more flow out than this map. I have not seen anything on the site for 99 or 2000-2001 that looks closer.

Any ideas besides the $350 the local dealer (not Ducati) for a custom map?

Scott

Try his. It easy enough and takes about 2 minutes. That's what I love about the PCIII. I have a small laptop, sit it on the bike and flash the PCIII with a different map and go.

I am willing to go get this map finetuned, but for now, it rocks so I am gonna ride it for awhile.

Here's the link to his map

I have a custom map for the PCIII usb that I had on the 2002 900 Sport (bike now sold). I had the Remus high mounts, no airbox lid and a K&N filter.

It's a ".djm" file and not a ".map" file.

The newer PCIII can handle either file types, but I am pretty happy with this map. On my Aprilia I am running a Renegade chip and have a couple others, but no PCIII on it as it is really sweet with the Rene chip. I really like the ease and flexibility of the PCIII. Works nice and the install is really clean. But if you wanna email it to me, I'll play with it! For a computer geek like me, this is fun!

Now my 900 really runs sweet and is a pleasure to drive, but I think I will go up 2 teeth on the rear just to tighten it up a bit.

Get my bar risers tomorrow and then I am ready to log some miles!

ryan,
I'm about to get a PCIII and I have your exact setup, although I'm about to add high comp pistons, so I don't know how the mixture will need to be changed, but can you post your map? I sure could use it in the meantime.
thanks!

Try both! Sometimes the differnces in the pipes is minimal.....The pistom change will make a difference, but these maps will get you close and then have a custom map burned.

This is what I had on my 2002 900 Sport with a PCIII usb, DP (Remus) high mounts, no airbox lid and a K&N filter:

The bike ran real strong with this map. I had a scan of the dyno run somewhere. I'll have to look for it.

Bob,
Tried your map today. Works okay, but redduc's is stronger down low. From about 20% throttle on up, they are basically the same. I used the map compare tool in the PC software, pretty cool. It graphs out 2 maps so you can see the difference. Yours is definitely leaner on the 0,10 and 20 lines and then the 2 maps pretty much converge from on up.

So for now I am gonna run redduc's map, but I appreciate you letting me try yours. It is fun playing with these and I am learning the PC software pretty good now!

Cool. I didn't know it was lean. I didn't have any problems and it definitely cured the hiccup at around 4k RPM.

I think the guys that did the map went for a constant Air/Fuel ratio across the board.

I'm glad you were able to use it.
