Default Tires.....

I've got to buy my first set of tires this year for my 99 900. I like a spirited ride, but nothing overly aggressive, and I will not be on a track this year. What is a good sport tire that inspires confidence in the wet, and has good feedback when dry? Mileage is a concern, but if I can get 3-4k out of a set, I'll be happy. I know this is an awful question to ask, but I'd really like to hear what you all have to say. The more response I get, the more information I have to use to make my decision, so all input is welcome. Thanks...

I started running the D220 after using the D208 because I needed something that would last since I commute on my SS, too. I still have enough grip to grind the pegs.

I'm going to concur on the D220's. I have a set on my Kawasaki ZRX1100, and they are sporting enough to rail through corners, and they're very impressive in the rain. The tread depth is about 50% deeper than your average sport tire, so you should get some decent mileage out of them...

Default Re: Tires..... (AZ Scott)

I am very happy with the set of Pirelli Diablo Strada's I am running now on my Aprilia. The Diablo Strada is suppose to wear alot longer than the regular Diablo, and I got 7000+ miles outta my last set of those. They grip and are great in the rain.

I also like Pilot Sports, Metz M1's. I do not like Dunlops, tried the 207's and am running a set of 208's that came on my SS. Just don't care for the profile on the Dunlops.

Tires are very preferential things, so what I like, others hate.......But I really like the Diablo line of skins, they flat work and wear well. Prices are good too. I got my set of Diablo Strada's from Southwest Moto for 206 delivered 120/180 combo
