Default Turn Signal Holes: How do you cover them?

We're looking at the mirrors Dave is selling in his Group Purchase post, and they have the turn signals built into them.

Does anyone know if someone makes a kit to block off the original holes in the fairing? Any other ideas?

Edit: Nevermind. I found something to block off the mirror holes, not the turn signal holes (for those who decide to mount bar end mirrors).

If you can't find anything you could always slap some bondo in the hole, sand it flat with the rest of the panel and repaint. Or some race plastic?

Vinyl that matches your paint? might look tacky unless you get some nice thin stuff.

Don't use Bondo.

Any fiberglass repair outfit would be able to cover the holes easy enough, or you could try it yourself. Then find someone with an airbrush to paint the spot.

You could make your own block off plate, cut a template and take it to a machine shop.

Or, just get some flushmounts and use 'em as running lights.

I had the same concern which led me to not get the mirrors. Interested if anyone comes up with a solution. I like the running light idea but am just not there yet.

I had Morse Fiberglass shave the stock turn signal recesses on my body panels so I could use a set of smaller flush-mounts. They did this as part of the repair/repaint work I had them do following a low-side last year. Came out very nicely. I'm sure most body shops could do something similar.

Well, we went ahead and ordered the mirror/signals. We'll figure out something with the fairing holes.

This is for Jessica's bike, and she doesn't want to get involved with all kinds of filling/sanding/painting. We just figured if there was some quick and easy piece, we would try that.

I kind of like the idea of using some flush-mount turn signals as running lights, but the hole/slot that the stockers bolt into is kind of odd-shaped. Hopefully, we can find a decent looking flush mount that will cover the whole area. Probably something with a dark lens wouldn't look too bad...

I bought some led pieces that had 4 LED's in them and was shaped that fit in the recess on my APrilia really well. It is not much different that the space on the Duc panels. You could use those as running lights. I plan to just leave them open for now, doesn't look bad or you could connect the LED blinkers with the mirror blinkers kinda like on the Audi's and Jetta's so you have blinking light on the side view and from in front (Mirror blinker).

The LED's take next to no power so they would run in line with the mirrors quite easy.

Where did you get these LED pieces? That sounds like a cool idea...

I'll have to find where I got them and let you know. I still have set over at my apartment I haven't used yet and won't be there till tuesday. I'll let you know. The ones I have, have a sticky back so you could just run the wires through the holes and press fit/stick them on to fill up the space. I'll try to remember to take the camera and take a pic for ya.

Should have something posted up by mid day tuesday. Hell I guess I'll use them for that too now! Forgot all about them till I read your thread! I bought a set of the mirrors and just replaced the stock back blinkers with a set of the micro arrow blinkers.....Looks sweet!

Bill,
Did you get a chance to find those LED's? Any pics? I found some nice ones but they are 1/4" too wide to fit in the recess.
