Default Not sure what new paint job to go with.

I want to repaint my bike but Im not sure with what to go with. You guys have any suggestions? With pictures? I have a 2001 750 sport and I have considered Titanium grey, navy blue, or even light blue if it looks good. Maybe i can get some to photoshop me those.

I messed around with photoshop(which I am really really bad atby the way) and I got a really nasty blue. It gives me an idea but Id rather go with a navy blue than that. Can anyone do better?

Some of the ST's came in a nice navy-type blue. That might not look too bad...

Your link doesn't seem to work... can you post a picture of your bike so I can try modifying the colors?

here's what it looks like with a really dark blue. If you're not in the sun it actually looks black. Don't paint it a dark color if you're as neurotic as I am about scratches. That's the only thing I regret about the color. Every little scratch shows up plain as day on the dark color.

Thanks guys. I think that ST is a little too dark. And I am not Italian(not directly anyway), so I see no sense in having Italian pride. I am looking for a solid paint job, but am open to suggestions.

What I really like is the candy blue on the 2004 Honda 600 RR. My cousin had it and I thought it was a beautiful rich color. Heres a pic with a beautiful laser exhaust.

And here's the version I made from memory(before I saw this picture because I probably couldnt match the color anyway)

HAA, sharks! Thats the color I was speaking of. I have to say there's something I just dont liek about it though. Is that color a paintjob or photoshopped?

I agree. It really isn't fair to post that pic because evrything in it is blued out. I did it with one button on one of my programs. Notice the lights, rotor carriers, etc are also blue. It just replaced everything that had color with blue.

The ST blue looks nice imho. (But then again me thinks Ducati's should be Red)

Yeah I noticed the blue sprocket and other funny additions. I agree, I love red, my car is red, and I would like to keep the bike red. But I have never seen a blue/green/white/ect supersport. So Id rather make it a really nice custom color for better resale value because I cant keep this beast for long. I have a question though, am I supposed to take the old paint off the existing fairings before I repaint it?

I will leave that answer to the body experts. I would think they would sand it and paint over it, but I honestly dont know.

If you are concerned with resale value, I would paint it a stock color. If you start going into custom paint colors then you limit the likability. You may actually hurt the resale value. I would try and find out which color is the most popular through DMH, DNA, or a dealer if you want to hit a broader consumer base. Maybe ask one of the dealers on the board to see what color sells the best for the SS. I would think (In order of popularity) Red, Yellow, then Black.

Always wondered what my bike would look like in a different color!!
I'm pretty partial to the red myself. Have thought a gloss black would look nice though, a la 2devious' 800 Sport. That said, the blue doesn't look bad either!

Oh yeah, you forgot to make the helmet match .

I like the shark mouth! I wanted to do that on my bike but with a fat human tongue sticking out on the one side (like it was blowing back from the wind) with some drool splattering back. A little more of a demented smile to the sharks teeth too

Verde Legnano
True Italian, needs some red but getting there.
NOT that I recommend it for resale!

Yeah I can see what you mean. It makes sense. Thats why Im not thinking of anything wild like a race type paint job, or a weird kaleidescope of color type paintjob. I want to go solid on this one, and when I realized that solid blue SS's do not exist, I thought I would take the opportunity to make it happen. Im waiting on a lot of stuff to come in, my bike is in bits and pieces, so Im going to put it all together at once, but I want to make sure the body is here. If I do it, Ill make sure to post. But till then, anyone have any other suggestions?

BTW, mouser, I really like that, but I dont think it was the type of green I was thining of.

And Im glad you didnt mind that I used your bike jpuck. I took the first SS pic I found. And no I didnt forget to paint the helmet. Its too nice the way it is and Im too lazy to try and change it.

UPDATE. I went with the blue. But they couldn't match it because they were too lazy to go through color-rite. I picked up two pieces today to take home. One is the grab bar piece after I sawed off the grab bar, they did an awesome job smoothing it out. And the next piece is the lower right fairing. I should have more pics up this week.
