Default Canister filter removal 1000ssds

I'd like to get some advice on removing the canister filter on my '03 1000ss.
It looks simple enough, but I wanted to check first) Can I just remove the bleed hose from under the tank and leave it open to atmosphere? and second) When removing the hoses that attach to near each throttle body, I understand that they need to be capped off in some way. How might that be done? If I'm way off on this, let me know.
Please some help for a newbie. TIA

Take a look here at the 900 removal, This is the one I used for removal of my stuff and most likley is very similar to the 1000.

What kind of screws are those that go into the TB? Couldn't I just get one from the hardware store instead of going directly to DUCATI?

They are metric, and have a wide flat mating surface to seal the aluminum sealing washer.

The screw could be purchased anywhere as long as it has enough mating surface. Make sure you use an aluminum sealing washer.

A vacum leak here will lean out the bike (maybe a lot) and it won't idle worth darn either.

aluminum? Why not a rubber one? I thought maybe that will seal it better.
