Will 999 wheels fit a 2000 900ss

just wondering if they will fit, and if so what other parts I would need to mount them.

No they don't fit. The front wheel brake mounting surface is spaced differently and has 5 holes instead of 6. Just not worth the trouble if you ask me.

So, if you say, went with 999/749 front brakes, how about then? or would you need more of the front end to fit everything. I'm thinking that with everything you would need to buy to make them fit, that it would be cheaper to just buy something that does fit.
