Default Full exhaust for 900ss?

Who all makes a full exhaust for the 900ss?

other than feracci?

is it worth it? how much of a gain would be seen out of it? what about if you did the big bore kit, I'm sure it would be seen then....

it doesn't look like the header is all that hard to make....

anyone?

Staintune has a real nice system and it carries a liftime warranty.
Call Chris at California Cycle Shop. You'll have to look it up.

WOW! I just went and took a look at that Hindle system.....they list it for 799.95 canadian.....

that's $642.63 american!

that almost sounds too good to be true!

Is there something wrong with Hindle's products? Or are they really that inexpensive?

I am pretty sure that is just the headers and not the cans

ok - well then I wonder what kind of modifications I would have to do in order to fit my DP cans on there?

From what I understand, the headers don't make much of a difference on the 2V 900's. Big tube, normal tube, they just don't improve much over stock when you get different headers. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how the header issue was explained to me by a few different mechanics.

That's why I don't even bother running silencers, I just have them open below the swingarm hotrod style

Hey Blue your right with a stock motor.

If you have a set of Guy Martins ported heads, I could see just how some pod filters along with fuel injection tweaking and a set of pipes, better than stock could make a huge difference!

Not to mention give one some serious ground clearance!

The Hindle system is $1234 US per Hindle, the list price on their website does not include cans.

Head pipe diameter increase will only help if you make it breathe better by doing the heads.

smaller diameter pipe and good back pressure allow for the engine to make torque at low RPMs'

yeah - I'm fully aware of how doing nothing to let the engine breathe better will not show any gains on a full system.......

that's why I was also wondering about how beneficial a full system will be on a 944 with P&Pd heads?

as said in the other thread... Thats a dyno run from the previous owner of the pipes. He had them on a 900Sie racebike. As I understand it, that run is with an open airbox and all appropriate tuning to get the best from the exhaust. No other mods.

I bought the headers used and then bought new cans to go on the end. I had them on an '03 SS800 for about 8 months, when a car decided to pull out in to oncoming traffic and hit me head on. Bike was totalled, I made it out with a broken collar bone and fractured bone in foot. That was last november. The pipes were actually pretty much untouched in the crash except for one scrape on a can outlet, but the insurance company totalled the bike and the money didnt work out in my favor to buy it back.

If you have the aluminum (beefier) swingarm, you may have to do some modifications to the flanges to have enough room to install them. There is a little more room with the older steel swingarm that Hindle designed the pipes for.
