Default New 900SS SP owner

Not new to Ducatis, but I just bought a '96 900SS SP, so thought I'd say Hi, and that I've already learned a lot about my new bike from you all.

I think it was a good find: 16,000 mi, really gone through and all tuned up at DucatiSeattle, FCR 41s, new clutch, new slave cyl, steel brake lines, valves just done, starter just rebuilt, Arrow CF cans, newer tires, other nice bits, only a couple of just very minor cosmetic issues.

After reading through the posts on frame cracking, I'm resigned to just expecting it at some point. At least I know where to watch for it.

Before I bring it home, I'm having a 39T sprocket and new chain put on. Then it should be ready to roll. I can't wait to get to know this bike and put some miles on it!

Congrats John on the 900 SS/SP. As you probably already know, it's a fun bike. Sounds like a nice find.

Ride safe.

Look for frame cracks in front of the gas tank where the main tubes are welded to the stearing head.

A little longer shock works wonders on these bikes.
