looks pretty cool but the rear header's merge with the forward looks a bit abrupt. will be cool to see mounted up on the bike!

Very clean work! What do you lose by putting that up under the tail though? I am assuming underseat storage is lost and you need to relocate license plate and turn signals to make room for the wheel and swingarm. Would be nice to see it fitted up.

My only concerns with a single muffler under the seat is that it looks like a cat with its tail up, if you know what I mean...

How much you pay to get it done and where did you get it done? I've been wanting to do just that since I got my bike.

Please share the info!!

Very nice, interested in how easy it's going to be to install since it looks like the rear header can no longer adjust up and down like the stock headers.

What is the total weight?

Nice work! I've been eyeing something like that for a while... be curious to see how well it installs/performs.

being nit picky, i echo the fitting comment - might be frustrating. plus it's too big and the merge isn't very nice.

but if you like it, enjoy it.

Couple other things I was thinking about last night.

How much travel does the wheel have? Will it bottom out without hitting the exhaust?

What are you doing to protect your arse and bike from the heat? I might have opted for dual CF cans for improved heat dissapation but wrapping the existing metal pipe might protect the bike enough? Perhaps a custom CF/Aluminum heat sheild is in order?

Think your going to run into trouble installing the headers as a solid peice, suggest allowing the rear down pipe to rotate 180 degrees and have about 1" or so of up and down travel on the Y axis. It's a tight fit getting things on as is.

The guy who build it has made a heat shield to...I have seen it on the bike, and it looks good!! I don't think theres going to be any problems fitting it!! It was made by my mechanics friend, and he "taped" on the bike before welding it.The whole process has been overseen by my mechanic who is really good (is also mechanic for a pro.racing team)...But you never know!!

I will post some pictures of my bike with the new exhaust when I get them

Wow, the diameter looks huge. Performance will be interesting to see... I have yet to see any production 2-1 pipes help power on a 900. Then there's the issue of what tuning level is the engine up to. The OEM header has already proven to be surprisingly capable.

But there is certainly no comparison as far as style between than and the OE exhaust! I've always loved the looks of 2-1 exhausts.

What OD sized tubing did you utilize? The exhaust itself looks pretty big to be honest. Are you going to grind the welds and then fully polish it? The only thing I see that might be questioned is the merged collector -- but it is really hard to tell via the camera angle. The exhaust does look good though otherwise! Post final pics when done.

The cool thing is you are taking a chance at doing something unique beside the typical enthusiasts bolt-on madness -- and I applaud you for that fact alone!

Looking forward to the pics ... and to hear how it sounds.

IMO the 999 and MH sound like sh!t with the uneven length pipes ... way to close to a Harley. Now with the pipes even length (ignoring performance issues or anything else BUT sound) they sound like a beaut Ducati again. So will be interested to read how she sounds.

Good luck with the fitting.

Any pics of your undertail exhaust yet? How does it sound / perform? How much was it? And when can I get mine?
