Default Rear shock

Anyone know the eye to eye length of a stock 95 900 SS rear shock. Some one has to know this off the top of their head.

I don't have an answer for your question, but that gif in your signature nearly made me spit my coffee on my work monitor! Don't know whether to laugh or cry!

I measured 13" from the center of each eye. That's my old stock Sachs-Boge from my 98' 900CR. I'm pretty sure it's the same shock though.

Regards,

Jeff

They sure handle better with a shock about 1/2-3/4" longer than stock; better ground clearance too.

Not to Hi-Jack the thread.. But does anyone know if the Ohlins Rear Shock that is advertised for a 00-02, would fit a '95? is it just that inch longer?

Because having it a bit longer, is a good thing!!

The ohlins shock for the 92-97 and the 00-02 are the same shock:

the Du235 or the Du245.

I put a stock rear shock from a '99 SS on my '95 to raise the rear hight a bit since it is little longer. It makes the bike handle much better.

Yes, stock ones are a bit longer on the FI SS bikes. The ohlins is height adjustible and the adjust range fits both the carbed and FI SS bikes (thus same shock). My ohlins' height is increased to the max just for this purpose - better handling and better ground clearance of the X-header.
