Default 2003 vs 2005 SS ?

Hi,
I'm in the market for a Supersport 1000DS. What changes did Ducati make that they can advertise 10 more hp and 5 more lbs ft of torque for the 2005 model compared to the 2003? Are these upgrades readily available in the aftermarket? I'd like to pick up a leftover 2003 because they come in red and the 2005's do not but I can't stomach the idea of missing out on that extra power offered in the 2005.
Maybe I should just wait a year and hope for a total redesign? Anyone heard rumors of that?

Thanks

I dont know for the ss but I know that Ducati changed from the Italien to the Japanes measuring system this year. That means from rearwheel power to crank power and the weight from actual weight to superdry/empty/not compleat/partsmissing weight. Due to that all bikes has better specifications as 2005 model then 2004. Can not tell if it is any updates done to the engines.

Jocke............

No major difference between a 2003 1000ds and a 2005 1000ds.
