15hrs my A$$, I replaced my own frame in 8hrs, turn key to turn key, on my front porch (without the fancy lifts)!!!!! I think the Ducati Labor manual only calls for 10hrs labor to do the job. Expect a few monthsmin. to get the frame (mine took 10), and the steering head bearings should run about $50-$60.

What a bunch of crap...... at least the labor charge. I just pulled my frame off for new paint, took 2 hours from riding bike into garage until frame was in the trunk of my car. Once I had frame back it took about 4 hours and twice as many beers to have it running again. As far as the frame exchange that sounds wrong to me. I would never send one in without having a new on first. When I replaced my frame 2 years ago my dealer had my new frame in 2 days!! let me take it home (with a full deposit) until I got my old one off, bearings etc did come out of my pocket

Even if the dealer won't accept a deposit for the new frame, strip down the bike, take the old frame to the dealer, swap it and head home with new frame in hand. Sounds like by dinner you could be back in business.... ( or on your back from too many beers !!! )

But, I sure as hell wouldn't send in the frame before you get your replacement - I realize you may not want to ride it but with my luck they'd lose the old frame and say Sorry.... ( not implying your dealer would do this but my luck some days isn't what it use to be )

Cheers -
