I was just thinking the same thing the other day. It would be real easy to put the hugger on with my bike in two pieces the way it is...

Can we get a pic when one is available?

Yeah same here... I PM'd Dan the other day, said they were getting the plugs made last week. He said he'd post pics when they have the parts. If I remember correctly he said it could be a couple weeks or so before parts are available from Clay.

Funny somebody else was thinking of that... I IM'd Dan at Benfer about it yesterday. Got a reply this morning, said he hadn't heard anything from Clay about it for a while but would ask him about it and keep us posted...

i need to get Christmas shopping out of the way first.

I trimmed mine to follow the contour of the sidewall, and then rounded the rear of it. I'd lvoe a carbon version of this...

BLZ, they do make carbon rear fenders that will work w/ your bike. Unfortunately, BFP doesn't though. And NOBODY makes them for the 2002+ SS's w/ the reshaped aluminum swingarm. Nor do they make a carbon chainguard for thos bikes. Not even Ducati Performance carries carbon parts for that.

Your reshaping job came out pretty sweet! Looks a lot better than the hugely oversize fender that was on the 1999/2000 bikes.

Blz, that looks GREAT!!! Is it rigid enough not to bounce off the tire? That would be the nuts in twill CF.

Yeah, that's about the best "trim" job I've seen. It had me out in the garage looking at my rear fender in a suspicious way... Do you have a better, closer picture of that hugger????

Here's another question: what's holding up those cans?

Damn that looks awesome. It looks like you are only using the top two screws to hold it on the swing arm is that correct?

Yes, its plenty rigid. Yes, only the front bolts are holding it on. And yes, I will get a better pic. Obviously the cans are mid-install, hence no support. You might also have noticed the lack of a plate holder or turn signals. The big plastic job is gone, and the turn signals are now in the tailight. You can drill a small hole in the corner, and use some sheetmetal or a beer can to divide the brake into three sections. I'll get a better pic when I get a chance to get over to the bike, its in a buddy's garage right now.
