Default electrical issue - 95ss

Sorry, this is a cross post from ducati.ms, but its a bit quiet over there...

I managed to get the bike (95 ss) out for a few miles today - finally warm enough. Unfortunately it seems to have developed an electrical problem while sitting on the battery tender over the winter.

The problem is that the right rear turn signal works sometimes, and not others, and the fuel light comes on and goes off intermittently.

I am guessing there is some common connection point (ground?) on these circuits that is corroded or loose.

Anyone know where I should start looking?

Thanks,

Peter.

Unfortunately the electrical connections on the older bikes are not the best. The turn signal is probably just a loose or dirty connector, the fuel light.... well mine has never worked since day one and this seems to be a very common problem. I just use my trip odometer to keep track of fill-ups

I think they share the same fuse. Check them first.

also check the wires that come out of the fuel pump/sender. they can get pinched under the tank when the tank is down, and look just fine when the tank is up. make sure the wire loop goes down in front of the frame not on top of the frame crossmember.
