It looks in Bruntr's picture that the end of the stand is near the base of the peg. Your photo makes it look like the end of the stand is near the middle of your peg. It may be an optical illusion from the angle that we see.

It almost appears that maybe, and I stress maybe, the bracket is bent...

I'll dig my bracket out and take a couple pics for you to compare. Worse case, after the holidays I could mail it to you and you can put it on to test... ( I don't use it but I would like it back )

If nothing else, it would tell you if your stand or bracket are bent or you just have a very unique situation....
