Default 800SS Header Size?

Anyone know the size of the 800SS header pipe where the can and header meet?

If you have an 800SS could you run out and measure the circumferance?

I am going to measure my 1000 and see if they are the same.

Considering new exhaust but vendor only has "800" part numbered cans available. I believe they are the same but thought I check here first.

Thanks in advance!

My calipers say 40mm give or take half a centimeter. 05 800SS I measured just below where the bulge for the slip in joint is. The header pipe actual slip in bulge outside diameter is 46mm give or take. Let me know if the 1000 measures the same.

Thanks for the info. I will check mine ASAP. Leo Vince is saying the headers are different but I beleive this is an urban myth.

I'm both time and math challenged but here's what I have calculated.

DCW has given me a measure of 40mm (give or take) where the header and can connect. Not having a caliper ,I measured the circumference of the same spot on my 1000 at
5 3/8 inches. This converts to 127mm.

C=Pi x D calculates out to 40.4mm

So the headers are the same size on the 800 and the 1000.

Math whizzes fell free to confirm or refute my calculations as I was a history major during my 6 years at the local JC.

As far as I know from shopping for pipes myself, all FI SS pipes are the same...800/900/1000, just don't swap ECU's unless it's 800 specific.

I was under the same impression. However, one of the sponsors recently had a group rate on Leo Vince and the guy insisted the pipes were different. Oh well,
guess I'll know for sure next time.

A few sites show 800 specific cans and I wanted to make sure I get something useful to my application.
