Akrapovic 50mm on old ss

Has any one tried Akrapovic Tangential 50mm full system on the old SS/SL series? Is it good? Advantage, disadvantage? I have a feeling that 50mm is to big. It will go on a 944 with ported heads, VEE TWO cams and HC Pistons.

Seems a bit high for the 2V lumps, however no experience with that size exhaust. I currently run a 40/45 system on my 795ss with same mods(then some), and it runs strong up to the 10500rpm limit.


A 45mm system would probaby fit nicely though, or perhaps 45/50 at most, so as to will keep your peak TQ at where it needs to be.

One question; are you running short inlet manifolds or stock? What are you using for carbs?

You will not get much (waste of money) unless you go short manifolds and bigger carbs (41FCR's).
