Well #1....where abouts in South Texas are you at? Just curious as we ride out of Bandera Co.

TD, I'm a mite south of you. I'm in the Rio Grande Valley, namely McAllen, Tx. I have been up your way but on the cruiser, not on the Duc. Would love to go back as the riding is great and all the people I've encountered have all been very nice.

Give a shout if you are up this way again - We can always make an excuse for a Hill Country ride.

Congrats on the SS. My Mrs has an SS/FE - probably the best balanced Ducati I've ridden.

TD: I get 5-6 days off every other week, starting on Fridays, so if you have a planned ride, or a group that wants to go ride, drop me a line on here and I'll try to get some guys together either from here or from my friends up in SA. Not all sportbikes, but I'm sure that doesn't matter.

We are not particular about the "type" of bikes we ride with. If they don't keep the pace, I'll wait at the next crossing. If we don't keep the pace I'd expect the same.

I'll let you know as planned rides happen.

Definetly keep me posted, just found out from my boss today that we might actually be going to 7 days on, and 7 days off, so that would be just perfect for a good ride.

As for the bikes, yeah, that is what I would expect too. If the bike or the rider can't keep up, ride your own pace, enjoy the ride and we'll meet up at the next crossing.

Last time I was in the hill country I was riding back from a weekend trip to El Paso and it wsa getting late by the time I hit junction. I thought I could make it home from there, and probably would have, but about 11 miles from Leakey, I ended up hitting a deer and getting thrown from the bike. No injuries, just kinda spooked me as I was in the middle of nowhere and had to find a place to crash (no pun intened) for the night. I forget the name of the city I ended up spending the night at. Either way, I would like to get some better memories of the hill country if you know what I mean. I've already got one rider interested in a run. He's on a Suzuki bandit 600.

Keep me posted

quickdraw: you are absolutely correct, cruisers with saddlebags or a person in a cage are always good for totting stuff, especially the ice chest for the final detination.
