Default Rear Spring

I'm looking to order a rear spring, but I need to know the length and diameter. I'd rather not take it all apart. Anyone have a spring from a 99 900ss with a Showa rear shock that they could measure for me? Thanks.

Send NCRick a pm or go to his website, http://www.motocd.com/ , and drop him an email. He should be able to help you out. If not, I have a Showa off of a 93 900SS I can measure.

I sold my Showa years ago so I do not know what the spring was. I can recomend the correct rate for you with a few more details. I think the Showa takes a standard 57mm spring but can not be sure. If it is a 57mm, it would be no problem to replace. Putting the Penske on my 99 along with the fork mods transformed my bike. I can not express the magnitude of improvement over the crap stock suspension. Now my SS makes all the other bikes I ride feel crappy. The stock Showa has a quite harsh damping curve.
