Default New Battery?

Although I've kept good care of my battery, it may be time for a new one soon. As warmer weather is hopefully upon us soon, I will take my current battery off the tender and try to use until I find a new one. Any recomendations? Are the real light batteries worth it?

Also, if I do keep my current battery and taky my chances, anyone ever have to pop start their bike? Was it easy? This battery has drained down before and last time it at least had enough juice to run the fuel pump which I think would be the issue. Starter did not turn over. Last time, however, I just charged it up because I was home and it turned over fine after that...but its still the original battery (sealed Yuasa). Cheap insurance on getting caught somewhere IMO so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Replaced my original (Fiamm) with a Yuasa YT12B-BS at the end of last year. Seems to work great. Fits in the tray like the oem. I paid $98.09 for mine through the Stealership because Cyclegear was out of them and I wanted to ride.

Sidenote: The OEM Fiamm battery was starting to leak when I replaced it.

I found this from another Duc group...

It seems like a good place to get batteres as there's a wide selection and good price. I would just change it. It's not worth the hassle of being stranded for a small amount.

I've heard that you can jumpstart a motorcycle in 2nd gear. Not sure if this applies to fuel injected ones. Maybe someone here can confirm?

What model? I just purchased a YBL16AL-A2 at Autozone for $49.95. for a '99 750 SSie. Its was the original battery with 47,276 miles on the bike. Guess I can't complain.

My SS jumps off in 2nd, no problem. On a side note, my local shop sells interstate motorcycle batteries. I know they make great car batteries but not sure if they make a bike battery to fit our bikes. Anyone ever tried these?

I bought my Yuasa Y12B-BS from Chris Kelley. Good prices, great service and as far as the battery goes, no problems and far better than the Fiamm it replaced.
