Default Mono cowl rubbing on 98 FE

Since I'm not observant enough to figure this out myself, a friend mentioned that I should check the mono seat/cowl where it wraps around the tail light to see if it's rubbing. Yep....bigger'n Dallas....it was making contact on the left side (as seen from the rear). So I put a plastic spacer....about 1/8" thick to lower the light just a bit. So now I can see some space there and it's not rubbing anymore. It had already rubbed about 1/16" in the tail light and the cowl, so glad I found this. Y'all check yours....may be doing the same.....don't know if this affects biposto's or not.
Another lesson learned as I figure this bike out.

Good catch bob. i used about a 1/2" thick section of rubber on the top of the rear frame rail (where the solotail mounts) in order to "lift" the solotail a bit off ther frame so it doesn't rub the taillight.

Yes....I thought about lifting the solotail but thought I'd have problems with the retainer screws so I lowered the tail light/license plate bracket itself. Like with so many bikes it takes a while to learn all the little things.
Thanks,
