what kind of overheating condition? i have had the bike get so hot that it started to run on only one cylinder as the ignition box started to fail. 90+ degrees and 90% humidity stop and go traffic. i have had the engine heat cook the fuel out the vent in the cap also.

never had any issues when i was actually moving, regardless of the outside temp.
i have had three supersports. a 750, 900, and 900ssie and and 750 monster.

the temp gauges are notoriously innaccurate. the air cooled motors will not usually over heat unless you are stopped for long period of time. they are very rugged and will cool quite quickly when you get going again. find where your gauge reads the majority of the time (120 for example) and be concious of when it is not where you think it should be. extremely lean fuel mixture could be causing extra heat also, you should have your chip flashed or a pcIII map for any significant changes in tune. i have slip-ons and a cut airbox lid with paper filter with no changes to the injection map as of yet.
