Helibars on 800SS
Hey guys, I'm a new owner of an 05 800SS. Other than the tank imploding (seems like a standard feature) the bike is everything I had hoped for. I'm 33 and about 5'10, so I'm planning on swapping the stock clip-ons for something a little more civilized. Does anyone have any before-after pics of Helibars on a later model Super Sport? Any experience (good or bad) with Helibars on the 03-05 SS? Thanks!

I have Heli Bars on my 02 750 sport. They were a little tricky to install since they come very close to the fairing when turned lock to lock. They are also a bit wider and angle outward more than the stock bars.
As it is, my hands tend to hit the mirrors when I'm making a tight turn. But for me, it's worth the annoyance for the improved ride position. I'm an "older" rider and my back and wrists were unable to take the strain of the stock bars. After a short weekend ride, my back would be sore for the whole week. While the Heli Bars really only raised the bars an inch at best, they made a big improvement in comfort. I also carved my seat to further lower my body in relation to the bar height.

Bar risers
Hi Desmo, I have a 99 900ss. When I first bought the bike the first thing I did was change the bar angle. I had bought my risers from Fast by Ferracci. I go on trips as far away a 7hrs. Give em a call @ 888-FERRACCI. I think their around 199.00 but well worth it.

HEY!!! welcolm to the "tank imploding" club. Mine imploded the day I bought it. Made it 32 miles from the dealer and "BAAAM". Have you ever seen a grown man cry? Anyways, my dealer was absolutely top notch in taking care of me on that issue. Hope your's worked out the same. I'm thinking I'm gonna try the Cycle Cats and need to get it done snice this is my wifes bike now. She needs the rise. I didn't mind the stock location but she just doesn't have the reach for it.

I've got a set of SS Helibars for sale if anyone else wants to do this mod. Too bad I just stumbled across this messageboard now or I'd have given the thread starter a good deal.

wsaraceni, how are those CC's comin along?
QWKDTSN, sent you a pm.
Does anyone know if the heli's fit any better, easier than the CC's? I've heard the CC's can be a PITA.

i havent tried the Cycle cat risers yet. i opened them from the box and they look incredibly better quality wise then stock obviously. it seems like a great design. im just waiting for the right day to install them. as of now, every chance i get i go ride. its only my first bike so i haven't gotten off of it yet since i've had a chance to ride.
