Default Anyone Running a 5.75 rear wheel?

Greetings

Is anyone running a 5.75 wheel on the rear of a SS 99+ year bike?
If so, what are your thoughts.

I ran a 180 on the 5.5 and loved it. The chain was close, but never posed a problem. I'm thinking that the 180 should have a better profile with the 5.75.
I a bit concerned about the width growth........

TIA

Mark!
If someone was going to bust my balls, I'd rather have it be you, Bro!

I guess I need to step away from my Ducati bikes and start watching more "Mythbusters" Programming! I'll write them and see if they'll do a show on the 5.75 vs 5.5!

Now where did I put that damn Cell phone and can of gas?

Fred Renz (Yoyodyne) likes and recommends them (5.75") for the 900 SS.

I think that's because the Marvics for the SS usually come in 5.75 (the 5.5 and others sizes are special order, if at all). But the 180 fits the 5.75 nicely. FWIW

Marvics come in 5.5" and 5.75". Fred sometimes stocks either, sometimes has to special order them (depending on what is in stock).

Thanks guys!
The reason for asking was, I just didn't know what would work. I've been staring at the superbike too long.

Throwing a 180 on the back took away some of the chain clearance I had. Then Trussdude offered me a 190 H2 Michelin for the back, I couldn't see it fiting on the 5.5 and clearing the chain. So I gave it back to him. I chatted with Fred Renz and purchased a set of Mags with the rear being a 5.75. So I'm happy and good to go.

I'm going to stick with the 180 as far as tire size goes, unless I can squeeze something a bit bigger in, later on without it cleaning the chain lube off the chain for me.
