Default 749s Stalling Issue

Hello all,
I'm very close to pulling the trigger on an '06 749s but am a bit apprehensive after reading all the posts about this model's chronic stalling. Was the problem sorted out by the factory by '06 ?
Any other issues or quirks I should be forewarned about relating to this bike?
Thanks in advance!

I believe those issues where specific for early models (03-05)and where resolved with updated camtiming specs.. Shouldn´t be an issue on an -06.

Default Definitely an issue with the '04 749s

I have an '04 749s and it stalls whenever it idles for more than 10 seconds without blipping the throttle or dialing in a high idle.

Annoying as hell. I've had it serviced for the issue three times and every time when I pick the bike up from the dealership it idles no problem, but by the time I get it home it is stalling at every second light.

I have yet to be given a satisfactory answer as to why it is happening. I've been told everything from "you just need to ride it harder" to "the exhaust valves are too big and there is nothing you can do" to "you need to do a $300 tune-up with adjustments to a bunch of stuff I can't even remember the name of" and I consider myself fairly mechanically inclined.

Bottom line, I would find out 100% for sure if the issue was fixed before I would buy a 749s. It's kind of embarrassing when your $15K bike stalls when idling at a light. Looks great, but doesn't run. Also a real pain in start and stop traffic.

The reason it stalls is because it has a low idle vacuum pressure. The small cylinder , large valves and cam grind aid reversion giving the low pressure . If you went up on bore size alone that would help dramatically.

The change of cam timing helped restore some of the vacuum. It was a quick fix and herd recently from the area manager it was introduced because they did not want to fit new programmed ecu's to every bike .

I have resolved or vastly improved many of these bikes from stalling. The latest test was changing the ignigtion advance at idle and the first part of the spark map. The idle vacuum vent up and the stalling was non existant.

You will have to spend money im afraid because ducati wont fix it.

reset tps
unscrew airbleeds to get 1500rpm idle speed - add or subtract fuel with trimmer to get desired co2 content on each cylinder
flash ecu with new idle timing.

that will do it
