Default How do I disengage the fans?

Hi guys,

I'm rebuilding a 998 and I need to remove the fans and still make the bike run.

I believe the ECU checks for the presence of the fans when the bike is powered up so how do I trick the ECU into believing the fans are still there?

Can I connect the two wires that run to each fan or would that ruin the ECU?

Thanks!

All the 749R that I've seen ran fine without fans. They would sometimes set a check engine light, but some others never did. Don't know if that's a model year change or dumb luck.
