996RS fuel tank and 998RS airbox - are they compatible?

Hi guys,

I'm contemplating buying a 996RS fuel tank for my bike but I need to know if it's compatible with a 998RS airbox before continuing.

Do any of you know if these two parts fit together?

which model year and if you know the model year, which type of 996 RS fuel tank? I hear there have been 4 different 1998 fuel tanks during that season alone.

Some have the fuel lines at the side like mine does, others have them in the middle... depends on which fuel tank you´re looking at.

I don't know the year but the Ducati part number is 586.3.027.7C.

That code is for 2001 996RS carbon tank.... however if you're speaking of the one that is listed on my Speedzilla classifieds page:

This is actually a modified tank which actually came from Troy Bayliss' 998F02 after the Laguna Seca race in 2002, therefore it will work with a 998RS tank and the fuel lines (as shown in the photo; the yellow capped holes) exit into the airbox directly to the injectors
