Above the foot peg there is a bracket, try and push it max forward.
I run 195/65 on my 996 with 57mm corse and space left over.
Also make sure you max out on length by using maximum chain length.

Yeah I did that.............. if i push the pipe too close it hits the swingarm. I have about this much "II" space in between the pipe and the tire. I had this same system on my other 998 but I ran a 180. This 190 must be a lot taller since its a 55 series.

If you want to run those tires and none of the other suggested solutions work, you might want to consider an extended swingarm of some sort, although that is certainly not a cheap option.

After reading your post, I checked my bike for clearance issues (60mm Termi's, but running a 180), and I had a ton of room. Then it dawned on me, the extended swingarm was why.

I wish you the best of luck.

On a sidenote, I once bought a Akrapovic exhaust system, which didnīt clear the rear tyre. It turned out they made it for the race swingarms so I had to give it back and shop for sth else. It might not be your problem in this case, because you already have been running 180 rear tyres.

Just some food for thought.

Here are some pix:

Thnx for all the replies guys. I got it to move forward a small bit and I'll see if that is enough after riding it........I think the cure will be to go do a track day so the back tire weares down a bit after that I'll go back to a 180. I'm also goin go take the front header pipe off and see if that is limiting the angle of the mid pipe. I can always have that pipe modified.

I changed rear sprocket and managed to move the wheel with the eccentric 10mm backwards to fit a 190/55 tyre.

Now the shock needs a stiffer spring and also reset the ride height.

Well I figured it out....... Since I have a standard 998 with a 998R exhaust the front header pipe does not fit the way it should but it works, in a way. What it does is force the mid pipe to the rear at a wierd angle. As soon as I took off the front header pipe everything fit perfectly. So now off to an exhaust shop to get the header pipe modified... Thnx for all the help and replies.

Cheers,
Matt
