Default what gears are you runing on the street

I just put a 14 tooth on the front and i have a 39 on the rear and I still think I could go a 40 or a 41 on the rear. It is now just starting to be somewhat fast. i have to be doing 70mph before i shift into 6th gear. What are you guys running? 2005 999 standard

It would help if we know what bike you have.

I am running 1,83 final gear, close ratio gearbox and 15/43 on my 984 S4.

15/43 is spot on for my needs but I would prefer a standard gearbox.

On my 851/996 I am running standard gearbox, 1,83 final gear and 15/42. Mainly due to that It was 15/42 on it when I bought it. I will fit 15/43 the next chain replacement.

Jocke........

15/39 with slightly tuned 916SPS
Works on "touring", twisties and track. Could MAYBE have gone to 15/40 if i made the choice again..

Had 14/40 on my old 748SP and that was optimal for both street and track on that.

999 has the close ratio gearbox iirc. With that gearbox I find 15/39 a good compromise too, or 14/36, very close.

You are riding street so you are prolly not concerned with top speed, however 15/39 and 180/55 rear tyre on it will net close to 270 real km/h at 11k.

Isn't the close ratio box standard on the S4.

Running 15/43 on y 955'd S4, but will be going back to 15/41.
