Iīd like to hear a bit more about that mate. My 955 canīt do it, not even to a worked R6 (07- MY). Having more power would be great but it comes at a cost. Either you put in a 1098 engine, but then you open the can of worms because you need so many other parts. Itīs expensive. Then, spending money on a Desmoquattro engine might not be the most genious idea nowadays. But oh well, I got a lot of time to think about it.

Regarding your triple clamp, it looks like mine does, flat on the top. So yeah use the 2 rings showing recommendation for a start.

@power curve, nice one! Itīs from the yellow bike I suppose? Is that a 54mm Sil Motor titanium exhaust?

The specs as follows:
Frame modified to suit 748R airbox
748R TB's with shower injectors machined to 60mm
Heads are STOCK- on the wish list for mods
996RS cams from VeeTwo
996RS engine cases with magnesium extended oil sump
Pistal 100mm pistons and barrels 13.5:1 approx comp making 1036cc
Ti rods
Walbro fuel pump with epicycle adj fuel reg
Powercommander
full 54mm Silmoto exhaust
748R Slipper clutch
Had I done the heads I could get another 5-15RWHP
but the funds couldn't afford it.

If only I could get it to handle as good as it goes!!!!!!!!!

Oh, that sounds like a sick list of parts mate. Really nice. I would have done heads before some other things but then, each to his own.

How much did the Sil Motor exhaust set you back? I am aiming for some winter mods which are gonna give more power. Therefore I might require a larger exhaust.

As far as handling goes, what have you done so far?

I personally think that my bike handles like a dream compared to all other Ducatis I have owned. I think the key is a light front wheel (magnesium or carbon fibre) and proper geometry settings. I first got into the magnesium front wheel thing with my 999r which had one when I bought it. It was amazing. I wouldnīt want to miss out on one. It certainly helps a lot. The less offset triples help a bit, but the difference is not as big as it is with the mag wheel. Setting rear ride height is going to make a good difference again. If you got these three things sorted out, you should be in Ducati heaven. At least at the front doof

I'd read it if you make another thread. Should be good.

About Jason:
I used to see (jason)DOS at Grattan when he was with Section8Superbike. The entire shop were lunatics but they always had fast bikes so it could be quite entertaining. Those guys were f'n crazy, ALL OF THEM!!! So i guess what I am saying is Jason(DOS) may have landed on his head too many times while racing so................ MAYBE we can give him a break sometimes. Maybe not, I dunno.

Jason is a tool of the highest order. Don't risk your $$$ when you can deal with any number of decent, knowledgeable chassis/suspension experts.

Hey Darcati,
You look to have the 'only' DOS top triple clamp they ever made, dimensionally.
IIRC, guys that fitted them for the 748/916/996/996 bikes were told to make a gay spacer that would raise/extend the frame mount for the steering damper.
You'll see when your steering damper angle is just wrong with that triple clamp. I think you loose the steer lock as well, that may or may not be important to you.
It'll be obvious as you compare a 749/999 triple clamp to a 748/916/996/996 clamp, specifically at the steer tube/steering damper mount.

Here's what going on with DOS these days....
