Default PCIII USB / ECU Setup - advice pleaze

Ok, after I got a working ECU now for my 998S I finally started it. It first started really bad, had to open the throttle a bit and it would pop an misfire a lot. A Mate told me "misfiring often is too lean", so I tried to richen up things. The only way to do this on a 5.9 ECU, without any Mathesis-stuff seems to be closing the airbleed-screws, right?? That's what I did and the misfiring was gone. But I had to fully close them.
The only problem left, is that it has NO idle at all. It will run well when I hold throttle at 3K, but below it will stall.
Now, the bike appears to be a 998S with bigger valves and ported heads, so I assume it needs to run WAY richer at idle than the stock 998S. So a stock set up 998S ECU would probably be way to lean. Is that possible or does it have other reasons to run that bad??
Is there a way to richen it up for better idle by myself (changing the mV-numbers at the TPS from 150 to, say 170?) ??
I will mount a PC3 USB, so my question is: am I able to richen things up at idling speed through it?? The tables in the PC3 software go down to 500 rpm, but I read somewhere that the PC actually starts to work at 3K, is that right??
Is it true, that the CO is now set up in the ECU via Mathesis or is there no CO adjustment at all within the 5.9 ECU??

I have an appointment at my dealer in one week time to set it up and map it on the dyno, so this is not the most important thing, but I would like to learn and understand a little bit about this stuff so please share your knowledge!!

Help, like always, most appreciated!!

Greetz,

Dali!!

I don't know about your ECU but if the valves/head have been ported then it will (should) now run lean.

My 916 had the heads flowed and when I started it up for the first time it was missing and backfiring and wouldn't even run for long because it was so lean, I couldn't get it to run on the bleed screws either but, fortunately the ECU has a fuel trimmer that I could turn up (almost all the way) and then balance on the bleeds.

I set mine a little on the rich side (5.2% co) and I notice that my custom map has a minus number in the 1000 rpm setting, so presumably it works at that RPM, otherwise why would he have set it that way?

Yeah, that's what I had with my 996 a few Years ago: would'nt idle well after I installed open mufflers and set timing and squish. Closing the Airtubes half a turn and almost opening the CO-trimmer fully and it ran awesome.
This is why I have the same guess on this bike, but unfortunately, there is no CO-trimmer anymore!!

Does anyone know, if trimming via the PCIII is working in that area?? (1000-2000rpm's)
