Default 999 head gasket thickness

what are people allowing as the thickness of a 999 head gasket? i measured one today and it came out at about 1.00mm, which surprised me.

When I squish the 998 I just get the piston flush with the barrell at tdc . I make the gaskets to be a mm thick . The early 996r and some 998s had the thinner 0.5mm gaskets. A racing engine builder friend complained he had the thinner ones leek on a regular basis

i checked the squish first and the pistons were up by 0.02 and 0.04mm with 0.20mm base gaskets, and i thought hmmm, that's not going to work because i was expecting 0.5mm head gaskets. then i measured the old ones and they appeared to be 1mm at the compressed areas. so i just thought i'd ask what others were finding them to be in case it was doing something wrong.

it had 0.20mm base gaskets already, and with the omega rs pistons the inlet side of the piston had been hitting the head.

Strange...I found 999 ones to be 0.20 each (metal clean) and four blades, so that would make 0.8mm. Perhaps the black goo makes up the rest?
