Default 748RS ignition map in 748R

Hello,

Anyone used the 748Rs ignition map in a 748R?

I've a 748R ported and i've just started making a optimizated map with a AFR logger.

I want to make a map with the RS ignition, but i don't know if is too extreme and cause problems with knocking. I want to try in the dyno to see wich one is makes more power, but i have to make the map on the road.

Where are the maps and the RS minus the Actual map.

What do you think.

Pedro

The ignition maps aren't magic and the RS map is probably made for different fuel than the R ignition table.
I always felt that the 748R ignition table had too much advance at the bottom which causes the idle speed to creep high.
Since you have the ability to see the ignition values I can only assume you can change them. Make your own ignition table that works for your fuel and your bike. It isn't and either-or deal.

Hey now! That screen-shot looks familiar!

Looks like an awful lot of advance....

Hi Bill,

In the bike it seems that the acceleration is crispier and eager to rev.

But i i'm afraid to wreck something....

One question Bill,

How can i change the rev and throttle points in the Tuner Pro

It's under the rpm or throttle breakpoints tables.

Just make sure that the sets match (throttle point sets A&B for example)

Imho desmoquattro ignition needs lowering if anything.

I havent worked with 748r much but 996 will work better with lower to 38 tops, even 35 will work as good, talking wot.
pt, have you changed the afr at the same time?
