I'm sure they're some sort of designer tennis shoes. Popular with the Starbucks crowd.

He does look like an ass. Especially knowing his picture was being taken as he was posing. I know 4 Desmosedici owners, none of them ride with tennis shoes and jeans on. All of them have taken their bikes to the track too.

Just to be clear..

The D16RR is a great bike and is the one bike i would dearly like to have. Probably one of the few that i would be willing to sell/trade my SPS for. A real true MotoGP replica that is made to be ridden HARD and spanked at the local track. Ducati AND pro-testers have all said that itīs a racebike with lights..

The objection about the pic above from most people here is probably that..
Well.. If your JUST going to "ride it" in jeans and jacket, then you might aswell have gotten a 1198s or even an 848.

Then again.. The rider COULD be an avid Ducatisti who just got a chance to ride the dragon on a D16rr and didnīt have the right gear with him.. That would be A-ok in my book.

But if heīs a sturbucks millonaire that just wanted the most expensive bike to show off on, he has my pity.

Why anyone would want to ride the Dragon on anything is beyond me! seven or eight years ago it was great, now nothing but a bunch of squids and Harleys and cops! Chances of getting hit head on by a squid on a R6 running wide are real good!

I tell people that all the time, and in the same area there are way way way better places to ride, with less people and cops

Hard to disagree with you. The whole area abounds with great roads. Why confine yourself to only 11 miles ?
