As far as I'm concerned, he can wear what ever he wants, that's his decision.

I personally NEVER get on a bike unless I have all my gear on, both my brothers are them same.

I once had a lad that rode in our group(he was new to group) asked why we wore so much gear(he was t-shirt, jeans, no gloves(!!!!!),sneakers type) I said "have you ever been down the road?". a few months later I bumped into him at a shopping mall, he was walking quite funny, he had come off his bike and made a real mess of himself

I said "now you know why we wear so much gear!"

next time I saw him on a bike, guess what, had all the right gear on!

If you see the way they get gravel out of your skin, you too would wear all the gear!
