Bravo! Maybe I should link you with the normal Milwaukee's Best swilling, wife beater wearing, low lifes I know from 'sconi, but I wont only because I also know plenty of Good people there.

My point was he can afford the bike but not the gear? Maybe he can afford the gear but just chose not to wear it?

As far as beating my wife, she'd kick my ass. I know if Im going anywhere near where roads like that are, Im geared up and I cant afford a Desmo. just a lowly little Monster and an 851 for my daily beaters.

i guess so i dont feel the need to wear leather on a scooter, so be it. im all for safety but sometimes its a pain in the ass "suiting up" to go down the rd. i know i know, most accidents happen within 5 miles of the house or whatever....i could care less either way, a scooter is all i ride on the street nowadays. But i think ill be getting a 1098r to hang out at the local bike night and to cruise to starbucks on hey, at least i always wear my wal-mart helmet...

Jesus, all y'all's need to chill the f out... dude's got a Desmo, so what? The guy can wear what he wants for all I care.

And I hate to break it to you, but we are all viewed the same by "civilians" (non-riders) regardless of how much or what gear we wear.

Although I do wear gear most of the time, I don't wear a helmet when I take the ST4 down the street to the coffee shop - otherwise I wouldn't be able to sip on my latté on the way back!

What a bunch of know-it-all haters! I'd go out of my way to start shit and make fun of you clowns who roll up on a public road in the heat of summer wearing full leathers after riding at 60 mph to go hang out in a parking lot to look at each other's bikes and talk shit about other people. POSERS! The guy obviously has you outclassed in the bike department so all you have on him is to make fun of his shoes or the way he is riding his bike? Get a life douchebags! There's always going to be someone out there who has a better bike than you and is WAY faster than you.

I´ve lost a friend who went down the street on his bike "just to go to the store" without his gear on. So you´ll forgive me if i have no sympathy for riders who don´t wear safetyequipment while riding.

But i digress.
Nice bike, nice pic, hope the rider had the sense to ride it carefully since he wasn´t wearing full gear.

Thank you

Ask my 31 seperate scars about wearing gear on a scooter....22mph equates to about 43 feet of skidding.

I always wear gear on a scooter, street bike, etc. At least "Riding" jeans and BOOTS.

Sorry cool picture but this is just wrong to right without correct gear.

Who cares?? Wear what you want to wear when you ride and keep your opinions to yourself about what other guys choose to wear when they ride. It's his choice what he rides and what he wears when he rides. You guys who are hating and throwing your strong opinions towards this guy look like you need to get a life. IMPO.

I think we all need to look at the positive side of riding without the "correct" gear.

#1, it's good for the health care industry!

#2, it is often good for the gene pool!

are you guys seriously going to tell me that ANY TIME YOU EVER THROW A LEG OVER a motorcycle you're wearing full leathers, boots, full gauntlet gloves, spine protector, and obviously your helmet...

EVERY TIME!?!?!

if this is the case you very obviously don't use your bike for anything but the track or canyon riding. if you commute at all it's a ridiculous prospect to be trolling around all day in full leathers.

YES, ABSOLUTLY YES.
I NEVER ride the bike without full gear in traffic, down the street or anywhere else, certainly not on winding roads!
If i commute then goretex pants, leather riding jacket, backprotector, riding boots and gauntlet gloves are the LEAST amount of gear I´ve ever ridden in.

What the H*LL is wrong with that?
Are you seriosly going to tell me that there is something BAD or POSER:isch about me protecting myself on my bike?

If so, i think you need to step back and take a good hard look at what you wear and why you wear it. The gear is there to protect YOU. Rationalizing it away when your just going "down the street" makes me wonder why you have it in the first place. Do you take more chances on the road when you wear the gear? What does that tell you?

...and there is the difference between the USA and Europe. When I was visiting Germany many years ago, I noted that difference (everyone had major gear) and it kept me off a bike for a long time here in the States as I got older. That reason combined with the general lack of respect decent street riders get here from drivers but that is another part of the story.

The real question is...why was a guy FROM CHICAGO at the Dragon in street clothes? I understand the lack of gear for the small run down the street and such but this seems strange.

In the end its his right but it is strange...

Mike

OK guys, let's get a grip here! It's a free World and if someone wants to ride without the proper gear it is their right! If they want to experience their wounds oozing through the gauze in the middle of the night and sticking to the sheets in the morning, that's their right! Who are we to say that they should not be able to experience that!!

so i must be a MASSIVE squid because i ride my bike to school wearing jeans, shoes, gp tech gloves mx-1 jacket with spine protector and an x-11 instead of my a* race rep and sidi vortices right? what a ****ing idiot i am...

it would be absolutely lovely doing electronics labs wearing 5 grand worth of safety equipment and preaching atgatt at everyone who walks past me... i'd be held in the highest regard because i'm so smart.

be realistic here, that's all i'm getting at.
