Default Another 916

Another 916 should be ready for the dyno . Its another making the most of standard parts , making a cost effective tune without throwing expensive shiny parts into it .

The spec is

Stock pistons
Stock pipes
Heads made by me
Cams degreed to 115 exhausts and 113 inlets (limited by stepped keys)
Big airbox (dont know what this will do in this state of tune)

And hopefully mapped by timblakemore on saturday if TW manages to fit the motor in record time

I know im known for posting ropey scanned copies of dyno graphs but this is gonna change now i have winpep on my home pc

Stop teasing Chris, let us see, let us see

The 916 we cooped on is at Cartagena and it's running quite good according to the owner, hes happy and a bit more.

Hi Chris, not going to get it together by Saturday as I now only have part of Friday to do it. Hopefully get it done by early/mid next week as I've got a few other parts to fit; clutch, chain & sprockets, airbox etc but should be good for next week.

Dyno was this morning at 10am

It reached 118.2 DIN hp or 116 for the SAE folks. Curves are consistant with the last 2 bikes

For those who are interested in such things, here's the graph, nice healthy boost through the rev range particularly noticeable from 7k upwards.

Great job Chris

The before is with heads and cam timing , the after is with fuel corrected to suit. A stock 916 fully mapped with open cans makes no more than 106hp on this dyno. Thats a full 10-12hp from head work and cam timing

I was most impressed with that engine, I thought it would make 105 up front in my hard to impress dyno, but it made a solid 113 something sae hp! And a stock 996sps makes 115 something, that is impressive from 916cc bip cams 33/29 valve, just tuning stock parts.

The stock sps on ours (or the one i use) is between 115-118. I may have also discovered a patteren between 996sps engines . Some 996 sps have a very weird exhaust port configuration (5-7mm of the floors ripped out) They flow less. Have you ever compared a bunch of 996sps graphs and discovered some dont hold there top end and some have a poor midrange vs a 996 bipo ? Sure theres a pattern (wonder if Brad Black) has spotted anything like this... could be my Ducaholism playing tricks on my mind..

Having ridden this bike for a fair few miles now, I have to say that the difference from before is amazing.

Any 916 owners who don't get Chris to work their heads are crazy, for the price of a service I've got what is probably close on a 20hp increase, the bike will hook up the front end in second gear now just on the power, it never did that before.
