Default Showa shock rebuild info

Does anyone have detailed information on a Ducati 916 Showa shock rebuild?

I want to do it with my shock, but I donīt know how much fluid, what type of fluid and how much gas pressure I need.

Also, does anyone know the spring rate of a stock biposto rear shock spring?

Call Jason at Department of suspension. He will rebuild it for a good price. But if you still wan to do it yourself he may be able to answer your questions.

Not a direct answer to your questin but Racetech Suspension sells high quality re-valve kits which come with comprehensive instructions.

I've done two Showa shocks for the street and they're excellent. $170USD

For what its worth, I'm running 200 psi in these shocks.

Race Tech Inc.

Click on "sportbikes" then search under "street product search".

Hope this helps.

The Honda shop should have some good showa shock oil. I think two little bottles will do, depends on how much of a mess you make. I think it is 2.5W?? SS25?? I use anywhere from 150 to 200psi or whatever the the nut on the bike says feels good.
just my

I saw a 1999 ST4 come in this winter with 50psi.
