Default 749r radiator?

Another question.. getting all my spares together for next year

Is the radiator on a 749r different from the 749/749s? Gotham cycles has one that looks almost identical to the one on my bike except the very bottom of the radiator on my bike has a small notch or bend for access to the spark plug. The notch is small but it looks way too perfect to be just a bend from someone damaging it changing spark plugs.

The drawing in the spare parts catalog conveniently shows a hose over the center of the radiator in the drawing

All the 749/999's radiators are the same... They might have changed vendors over the course of the production run, but I'm very sure, they're all backwards compatible.

Thanks!

I downloaded a couple of the parts manuals for various years and they all looked like the exact same page with a different heading on top.. Just wanted to make sure!

The 749R radiator is different than the other 749's. It is larger by .1 liters.

Perhaps different manufacturing practices? Its physically the same size...

Ty showing how much more he knows than every other Ducati mechanic on the planet.

All production 749/999 radiators are not the same. There are two distinct sizes, two different capacities and two distinct spigot arrangements.

No one need take my word for it, but I have changed enough, held enough and compared enough of them to know this to be true and accurate.

Are they backwards compatible?

their is a toyko or whatever it is and the ktm. diference is the spigots for the hoses. my opinion the good one has both spigots on the bottum and the other has one on top and one on the bottum. reason i like the first is why you put silicone hoses on ducks- their is less hose to suck in at high speeds. this is why you see so many all tubes in the new race cooling systems, the pump will actuall colapse the hoses at high speeds causing an overheat
not a guess!

Here are your two radiators... One with dual hose on the bottom and one with one high and one low. WOW, looks awfully different to me! IDK how you could ever make it fit?

No, you can't shove a 916 front wheel onto an 848 and expect it to work without some modifications. But this, I don't see any issues with fitment. You might have to go to a Ducati dealer and buy another one of those short hoses to connect the other port. I'd just cut the stock hose and fit it...

Will the radiator fit? YES
Will the radiator work without any modifications? YES
Will you have to buy a hose? Perhaps

OMG, you're arguing over a bloody hose? Gimme a break guys!

Same 2 types of radiators apply for the 999 too. Mine has the one on the right (one hose on top and one in the lower of the rad)

WOW, you guys really are a bunch of losers. Bravo

Looks like I was still correct after all of that... the radiators are clearly backwards compatible with an alternative hose configuration.

Neither of those look like the radiator I have on my bike:

I wonder if I could get a different hose to make it work on a 749r

Now THAT is the radiator I'd be willing to kill to get one on my 999...

Any source for it ? Price ? Running temps ? And definitely a-n-y- info on it would be much much appreciated ! Installation ? Any mod to make it fit ? Do the fairings go over it ok ?

Please do enlighten me on this gorgeous rad whenever you find some time for this.

Thanks in advance !
