Ok, nice!
I have only measured and used the 506. Are you going to time the cams? And if so do you think you can take notes of lift versus crank degrees, it would be nice to see what they did with this OE cam.

On a related note: Does anyone know of a company that would custom grind a set of cams for the 848?

We are interested in developing a more "506" like cam for the 848. ie high lift but not too much duration or overlap. Something that would increase output without resorting to greatly increased rev's. Something that would work well with port improvements and a little higher compression.

Once a set exists and is tested maybe we can get someone to produce them for sale. Contacts would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Newman cams in the uk . They offered to modify or make any duc cam if i supplied a used set . Prices were good from memory . They can also reprofile your rockers with special pads or change the ratio. I think his name was david and he sounded very positive

Got the heads back from Kaemna.
I use the 0E inlett RS cams (Opens at 30 tdc and closes at 58 bdc)
Suggested setting 30 TDC

Stock 748R exhaust cam (opens stock at 62 BDC) suggested setting is 57 BDC.

Any thoughts ???

Of topic question, measured squish on the pistal kit using lead bars.

squish measured 1.20 on 1.08 on the oposite side.
shal I order a new base gasket that is 0.10 or 0.15 less than the original 0.40 base gasket. (same on both cylinders).

Do you use the avreage mesurment or the the lowest as the referens.

(748 RS manual squish 0.95 to 1.05 mm)
(749 kit manuel squish 1.00-1.00 mm)

EO

Seems like the OE is a tad shorter than 506, that would be sweet, when you dial the cams can you check the max lift please?

For the combo 506 and 748R exhaust same centerline numbers on both cams will keep center of overlap on tdc, 108/108 or 110/110 etc, taken from the cam pro plus measurements we have.

With high comp pistons I would retard the inlets a bit, thats what I'm going to do on the sps anyway 110-112 on the intakes sort of.
