Default ECU Problems w/749 Termi Full Sys

Put on some new Full system termi's on my 749s a couple of months ago, which came with it's own ECU. Just started experiencing low speed/idle engine cut outs. Took it to local Ducati dealer, and had them adjust the timing, but still happening. Ready to take it back it in but not sure what to ask them to do. Anyone else having this problem?

I believe the fix for this is a TPS reset

TPA? Had to go look that one up. Throttle Position Sensor reset. I'm assuming it is a dealer service adjustment. I'll mention it. Thanks 46 Fan.

No problem, from what I understand, it's like a 30 second thing - quick plugin and reset. What I've been told is any time you make a significant change i.e. changing the ECU or the exhaust, you should have the TPS reset. I just installed a new ECU and Termi on my 999 and it's running fine and in the spring, i'll still be doing the TPS reset. After you have yours reset, post and let us know if it helped.

I was told by a Ducati mechanic that the 749 S models retained their stock CPU and he didn't recommend using the one suppied with the Termi kit. He said he used the Termi CPU on the base model but not the S.

A close friend of mine had same problem. It ran great on the OEM ECU but with the Termi ECU that was supplied with it would stall at red lights. He had the dealer reset TPS, synch throttle bodies, check CO, checked time, etc...nothing worked.Dealer ordered a replacemtn ECU and went through those settings again...DIDN'T WORK.

He took it to another dealership, they reset all the settings...still didn't work.

He's running the stock ECU now and couldn't be happier.

Keep us posted with your progress.

Gentlemen,

After a couple of messages to my local Ducati dealer regarding the TPS, he left a message to bring the bike in next week. Ducati is sending the "fix", says it has nothing to do with the TPS. I'll let you know what it is and whether it worked.

By the way, thanks to those who gave the advice on the question Ohlins valves kit vs. R&T for the front forks. Got the R&T with lighter springs (.85) as well as the .62 for the rear instead of the recommended .70. I no longer feel like I'm riding an ironing board, what a difference. I highly recommend Dan Kyle racing, Sand City, CA, will ship anywhere. Talk to Alex or Dan himself. New fronts with springs installed $2039! Comes with new beefy lower triple. Amazing difference and adjustability.
Couldn't be happier.

Default Me toooo

My 04 749 does the same thing every other light. It did it when it was bog stock , at 3500 kilomiters i put a Zard full system and power commander on it with a full system map in the pc .It does the same thing no change. You can hold it at 2200 rpm at a light and sill hear it trying to stoll . It idles fine but just goes fiph and dies. One dealer told me thats what race bikes do , screw him when your turning left at a light and it dies. So some help would be great, its sill under warranty so its there problem I told them about it before i put the pipe on , so any experince you can send my way great./
