Default Interested in 848R pistons?

Anybody interested in 100mm (848cc) pistons for the 749R? I'm thinking about having a batch made up. To make these work on your bike you will need slightly modified 999 cylinders and head gaskets. (the 749R cylinders cannot be bored this big) PM or email me for pricing/details/etc.

J.D.

We are the new U.S distributor for Pistal pistons so will be stocking them and have 920 sets comming in next week (along with most of thier line) for the standard 749's. Stay tuned for a complete Pistal list of pistons. There will be a dealer network of independent's and Dealership outlets we will support with kits and spare parts. Dealer inquires invited. We looked at other brands and (like Bruce Meyers) chose Pistal for thier quality and advanced forging design.

JD - getting shot down?

Not sure how the other ones are being made but I was significantly impressed wiht the ones JD had made up for Mark's bike. Absolutely no question on the engineering and quality.

The coolant passages do not line up between the 749 head and 999 cylinder. You can either modify the heads or the cylinders, or both I guess. The 999 gasket will also need some additional work.

Why Ducati did this, I have no idea.
